Brook Moes Bio
B.M. University of the Pacific (California), M.M. University of Maryland, M.B.A. Herriot-Watt University (Scotland), Seminary studies Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, Ordination Reformed Presbyterian Church (Hanover). Violin studies with James Stern, Ronda Cole, Arnold Steinhardt, John Dalley and William Preucil. Pedagogy studies with Ronda Cole and John Kendall. Chamber music studies with the Guarneri Quartet.
Mr. Moes is the Pastor of Calaveras Presbyterian Church in Angels Camp and the President of the Coalition on Revival. He also serves as the Academic Dean of the New Geneva School. As a violinist, Mr. Moes has performed throughout the United States, Scandinavia, Romania, France, Greece, Ireland, England, Italy, and South America. Mr. Moes has been on the faculty of the University of Maryland's Suzuki Talent Education program, of the Kneisel Hall Chamber Music Festival, of the Greater Washington Suzuki Institute at Catholic University, of the Advanced String Institute at Stanford University, of the Suzuki Institute of Hawaii, and of the Intermountain Suzuki String Institute and other institutes and workshops throughout the US. Mr. Moes is the Founder of the Suzuki School of Northern California and was for many years a faculty member of the University of the Pacific, Conservatory of Music. His students have garnered top prizes in a number of local and regional competitions including All-State champion, twice USA Twin Fiddle Champions, California State Fiddle Champion and the Jr. Miss California Pageant.
As a martial artist, Mr. Moes is a 4th degree black belt, an experienced firearms and edged weapons instructor, and he has adventured extensively on 5 continents in over 30 countries. He enjoys whitewater rafting, camping, movies, golf, and hanging with his family. He and his wife Tonya reside on their ranch in California. They have 13 children and 12 grandchildren.
